Ministry to Older Adults

We have an active Ministry with older adults, recognized with a citation from the Diocese of Richmond as an outstanding program in 2001.

Our Ministry has provisions for the spiritual, physical and social well being of our older adults.

We offer programs during the day for spiritual enrichment.

For the grieving, we offer a support group that meets when needed and support with funeral planning.

Those who need transportation to church are able to schedule a ride on our senior van to our 11:00 a.m. Mass. We also use our van for social outings and visiting places of interest in the area. Occasionally we will visit a cultural performance at one of the local theaters.

We have a weekly social following the morning mass on Wednesdays and a monthly luncheon meeting for our widows and widowers. A number of our parishioners send cards on a regular basis to our elderly.

Also available at no charge is a lending closet of medical supplies; any parishioner who is in need of a walker, a cane, crutches etc. may check these out at no cost.

We welcome the participation of our elderly in these programs and consider them a vital and important part of our parish.
