WORSHIP AT HOLY TRINITY Music Ministry

HOLY TRINITY MUSIC MINISTRY

At Holy Trinity, we strive to make each liturgy a rich and fulfilling experience. Every effort is made to help the assembly find their voice. Music ensembles, cantors and accompanists also assist in the music ministry of the parish. Christian worship throughout the ages has been closely linked to a great tradition of music that gives glory to God and inspires us to service. It is our intention to carry that mission forward as we bring Christ’s message to our community and the world.

CANTORS

Cantors are always needed and are trained to lead the assembly in singing at each Mass.  It is most praiseworthy to have a cantor lead the assembly in the singing or chanting of each of the prayers of the Mass.  Cantors are trained to assist the assembly and lead worship with solo vocals, for “There should be a cantor or a choir director to lead and sustain the people in the singing.  When in fact there is no choir, it is up to the cantor to lead the various songs, and the people take part in the way proper to them” (52, General Instruction of the Roman Missal).

TRINITY SINGERS

This is our adult choir, which rehearses once weekly (Wednesdays at 7:00pm after the 6:30pm Mass), and sings for at least one Sunday Mass each week.

TRINITY SCHOOL CHOIR

Our Children’s choir, made up of children from Holy Trinity School rehearses each week during school music instruction and is open to children grades 2-8.  The Junior choir assists as Masses once each month, often for our monthly “School Mass” on the first Sunday of the month.
